The IMF now says we're avoiding recession. Who cares!?
Recession semantics are irrelevant to the question of whether the economy is performing for real people with real lives.
Britain will not enter a recession this year. That is, according to the International Monetary Fund.
The IMF has today released a revised economic forecast for the UK. It has said that Rishi Sunak and Jeremy Hunt are taking us on the right track. It now says that GDP looks set to grow by 0.4% in 2023 rather than contracting by 0.3% as forecast in April.
